You can´t be open and honest with people who are not able to be open and honest with themselves.
It´s simply impossible.
You can not expect to have clarity from people who constantly lie to themselves, in order to keep up an image, they project to the world to look good. Narcissists always want to look good.
That is one of the most important signs of recognition.
They only care about how they are perceived rather than care about how they perceive themselves.
In fact they do not perceive themselves at all, because they do not know the mirror.
They only see an inflated completely delusional grandiose version.
Their entire perception of themselves is an illusion, and so must be their perception of what is actually truely going on.
And because they are so dependant on how they are being viewed by their surrounding, they do not know the humility to confront themselves with the truth they desperately needed to recognize their shadow self and stains on their white „I´m the prey. They are guilty!“-self-wedding-gown and grow, heal and learn to become the actual true version and the true potential they hold.
They are praying to the chimaira-god, which is their inflated delusional sense of perception of self.
You can´t rely on someone like this.
They will always and in any situation put themselves first.
The rats are the first to escape the sinking ship, they say.
And that is exactly the narcissists character and style.
They are in no possible way reliable.
No people to build something endurable.
Because the next crisis that life inevitably throws at them will show their true colours.
They are flighty, dishonest and weak.

… they constanly lie to themselves.
And one can not expect true honesty and intimacy from these beautiful but tortured souls.
